This weekend, I spent at Nia workshop. Nia is a fitness practice that blends martial arts, dance forms, and other techniques such as feldenkrais, yoga and alexander technique. The workshop was conducted by Jenn Hicks (Jenn Hicks), and organized by Wanitha Ashok(Wanitha Ashok).It was kind of fun with a nice integration of all the different disciplines. About 5o participants attended. Lot of them were fitness trainers. I enjoyed the workout, but unfortunately there are no regular Nia workouts in bangalore. But I got some dvds about it.As usual it does not matter if you have dvds. I am such a lazy guy to go through the dvds and practice it.

I was testing the blogger beta for the last few days. Really sorry to post this in worpress blog. Seems it has caught up with wordpress with lables and Page Elements. What more it gives you the ability to use javascirpt and css unlike wordpress for which you have to pay money. Though it doesnt have the concept of static pages like worpress provides whcih is pretty much usable. But for a layman using wordpress is easier than blogger beta. One more thing is that blogger beta doesnt have conditions like not to put commmercial information on the blog.

I am a regular cola drinker. But for past few months, there is this huge controversy over pesticide residues in colas. I get lot of mails having powerpoints and stats saying how these colas are harmful. Lot of stat to prove some point, but what these guys miss is comparison of adulteration in other food items in India. So did some googling on it and got the following piece of data from indiatimes.

CSE tested 12 drinks and claimed these had 11 to 70 times the pesticide residues permitted under European Union norms. Let’s accept CSE data, regardless of what others say, and compare these with EU norms for various edible items in Europe.You will find that Pepsi has 37 times as much pesticide as the EU norm for water. But compare Pepsi with other edible products and a totally different picture emerges. Even going by CSE data, Pepsi is 191 times safer than milk and cream. It is 242 times safer than eggs. It is 538 times safer than bovine meat. And it is a whopping 4,118 times safer than apples.
So its much safer than taking milk, egg or apple. I hope theres a initiative by some health agencies where they post the average adulteration of most of the food items in India , even better on regional basis, and let the people decide.

Ideas and concepts are more valuable, but in most places you find that these things are considered otherwise. They are just seen as another piece of random thinking and may be not valued that much.
Most software companies just want something that is working. They may not worry about how well its implemented or how good the concept is or how maintainable the code or design is. All these things seem to become secondary.
Getting sleepless nights because of soccer world cup. Writing this blog half asleep. My fav team England had a great win against Trinidad by late 2 goals. One of the goals was coz of presion passing of ball by Beckham to Crouch. Amazing to see it.
Yesterday night i saw my marriage again. But again marrying a wrong girl.I was writing a poem about her just for the sake of writing. Just hope to hear from THE ONE even during the final moments. The nightmare continues.
