Feldenkrais Retreat in Bangalore

This weekend was really amazing. Went to the Feldenkrais Workshop organized byKirtana Kumar

It was a residential camp in a farm near Magadi warmly hoted by Kirtana Kumar. The place provided a serene and peaceful atmosphere. were some 15 to 20 peoply ,stayed in tents and did some trekking. Added to that we had truly delicious food, some amazing guitar work by Konarak . The feldenkrais lessons were taken by French Choreographer Michel Casanovas. Have to learn lessons of being composed from him . But it was not just feldenkrais practise alone. Morning session was for some core feldenkrais practise. Then after the break we incorporated what we learnt into some moves that included CI.(contact improvisation). Afternoon sessions were full of learning Sollukattu. The “rhythmic syllables” called sollukattus . and then mixed it with movements. Some of the leassons we did on top of the rocks near by. Lots of peace ,experience and learning in short.

Nia at bangalore

This weekend, I spent at Nia workshop. Nia is a fitness practice that blends martial arts, dance forms, and other techniques such as feldenkrais, yoga and alexander technique. The workshop was conducted by Jenn Hicks (Jenn Hicks), and organized by Wanitha Ashok(Wanitha Ashok). It was kind of fun with a nice integration of all the different disciplines. About 5o participants attended. Lot of them were fitness trainers. I enjoyed the workout, but unfortunately there are no regular Nia workouts in bangalore. But I got some dvds about it.As usual it does not matter if you have dvds. I am such a lazy guy to go through the dvds and practice it.
